Press Releases
Seoul, Korea – 25 June 2012: Linde Korea, a member of The Linde Group, is to visit three elementary schools starting 26th of June to 29th, including Suji, Buyong, Yidam elementary schools in Yongin, Euijeongbu, and Dongducheon respectively, to carry out lessons for the Science Technology Ambassador Program, partnered with the KFASC (Korea Foundation for the Advancement of Science and Creativity) since 2009.
Linde Korea has continued to pass on knowledge of science technology at elementary schools in isolated areas for three years since 2009 with PhD standard professionals as teachers. Each year six of these programs take place. This year three will take place in June, and three in the later half the year.
The Science Ambassador Program is run by the KFASC, offering science lessons taught by working scientists visiting elementary, secondary and high schools, to enlighten interest in science in the hearts of children who dream of becoming scientists in the future. Linde Korea provides all equipment and lessons expenses, also donating all financial support received from the KFASC to each school in the form of scholarships.
As one would expect from a global company with world-leading technology in the gas sector, Linde Korea plans to present down-to-earth experiments that pupils may have interest in, which links to science practices in real life, such as breaking a frozen rose, making ice-cream and freezing bananas with liquefied nitrogen.
Meanwhile Linde Korea has participated in the Gyeonggi Province Creative Characters Education Information Fair which took place for three days from 21th of June to 23th at the Kintex. At the fair, the company has received passionate cheers from the crowd with exciting experiments, the same as those carried out for the Science Technology Ambassador Program.
