Seoul, Korea – 13 February 2013: Linde Korea, a member of The Linde Group, announced that it completed the construction of N2O (Nitrous Oxide) gas production plant in the Asan Industrial Complex for Foreign Companies. Construction on this plant began in the first half of 2012 and now it has operated normally since it was commissioned successfully in January 2013.
Linde Korea’s new N2O facility has an annual capacity of around 3,000 tons and is fully equipped with N2O generator, purifier and storage facility, etc.
Especially, the company can expect to produce high quality N2O gas because the facilities to produce N2O and purifiers to make high purity gases for electronic industry are designed and installed based on state-of-the-art technology from Linde Engineering’s more than 130 years of history and the know-how.
N2O has been used as a medical gas because of its anesthetic functionality. However, currently, high purity N2O gas is needed for manufacturing the next generation display, TFT-LCD, or OLED and the demand of it will be expected to increase explosively.
Linde Korea plans to add more N2O plants continuously and extend the annual production capacity to around 10,000 ton gradually for catching up with the increasing demand and helping major electronic companies to mass-produce the next generation display panel and OLED.
Rob hughes, President of Linde Korea said, “I am very delighted that construction of our N2O plant has successfully completed. Base on the recent trends, electronic business including display has grown steadily despite of global recession and we can expect further accelerating growth in electronic business from Linde Korea’s new N2O plant. Linde Korea will strengthen the support for major electronic companies in Korea. “
